Luke Wroblewski‘s ‘Web Form Design‘ is a great practical book for anyone designing web forms. It will save you loads of time and can easily be used for supporting your decisions at the board. It has some great user testing data, makes complete sense and is detailed enough to answer most questions you will ever have regarding the subject.
Although the author hardly ever points out best practices, the job he’s done describing pros and cons of every possible aspect of form design is invaluable.
You might just have one or two forms on your website, but pretty often they are critical for the business success and that is why forms just cannot be neglected.
Summing up this flattering review I would like to thanks Luke for a great reference of what’s long been a dark matter for designers.
